Many Styles Social Media Kit

Promoting our event is the key to our collective success. Our combined social networks is a force to be reckoned with. We’ve created this kit of images and copy for you to use and tweak as you see fit to help get the word out.

Best Practices To Follow

  1. Post about the event every other day. Not everyone will see your post. Frequency is key.

  2. When you post multiple times, don’t say the same thing. Talk about what makes you excited about the event.

  3. Don’t be afraid to post about the other instructors too. This is not a competition!

  4. Tag us @kapwagardens and #ManyStyles so we can see each other’s post

Filipino Martial Arts is back at Kapwa Gardens. We are excited to present a monthly Filipino martial arts class series!  From the different styles of Eskrima to Kalis, Filipinos have been deeply immersed in various fighting styles for decades.

Get the chance to learn the basics of Filipino martial arts in an inclusive and safe space. Whether your goals are to exercise, learn a new skill, or be part of a community, we'll hold space for you.

Each event will start with beginner classes interwoven with demonstrations. Then at the end of day, sparring sessions hosted by the Sabong Federation.

The event will also feature pre-colonial dance performances, kulintang, vendors, and other FMA adjacent cultural activities. Each month will also feature new styles of FMA.

Classes open to ages 7+. No equipment or experience necessary.

All participants are welcomed to bring their own equipment to practice with!

Class Tickets for the Many Styles are FREE but we are accepting sliding scale donations. Your donations will help us continue to host our future events and keep our garden growing.

Sparring Sessions

Hosted by the Sabong Federation, the last 2 hours of Many Styles is  dedicated for FMA sparing and fencing. Equipped with padded swords and safety gear, intermediate and expert level participants engaged in a controlled and dynamic exchange. Demonstrating their mastery of striking, blocking, and footwork, they showcased the effectiveness of Eskrima, Arnis, and Kalis.
